Terms of sale

These terms cover apps bought from shoalapps.com. They are written to be read; your rights under consumer law in your country are not affected by anything here.

Who sells

The apps are made by Patrick Quinn, trading as Shipwright, 31 Watson Park, Killiney, Co. Dublin, A96 W9W3, Ireland (hello@reefstore.app). Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the merchant of record for all our orders: it takes the payment, charges VAT where it applies, issues the receipt and handles returns, under its buyer terms.

What you buy

A licence to use the app on Sailfish OS phones you own or use. It is personal: it is not transferable, and you may not share or resell it. The app itself stays ours (or, for open-source parts, its authors'), and its licence terms apply.

What it needs

A phone running a Sailfish OS release the app supports, with the free Reef app installed (from reefstore.app), which installs the app and keeps its licence. Each app's page in Reef lists the releases it was tested on. Pilot also needs an internet connection; Shoal Bridge needs AirPods or other supported Apple headphones.

Delivery

The licence is delivered as soon as the payment completes: Reef adds it to the phone you bought from, and the checkout page shows it so you can add it to any other phone. It is checked on the phone, offline. If anything goes wrong, write to us with your Paddle order number and we will send it.

Refunds and your right to cancel

You can have a full refund, for any reason, within 14 days of any payment: see the refund policy. That is at least as generous as the 14-day right of withdrawal EU law gives you for digital content; you keep it even though the licence is delivered straight away. A refunded licence stops working.

If something is wrong

If an app does not work as described, write to hello@reefstore.app. We aim to reply within five working days, and we will fix it, refund you, or both. You also have the legal remedies consumer law gives you for faulty digital content.

Liability

We are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care, and nothing here limits liability that the law does not allow us to limit. We are not responsible for loss that was not foreseeable, or for loss caused by the phone's operating system, other apps, or services we do not run.

Changes and law

We may update these terms; the version on the day you buy applies to that purchase. Irish law governs them, and you can bring proceedings in the courts of Ireland or of the EU country you live in.
